The present investigation was carried out under polyhouse condition at the Hi-Tech Floriculture and Vegetable Project, College of Agriculture, Pune-5 during November-2011 to December-2012. The results of the experiment revealed that N content in leaves and roots were reduced significantly from 110 DAP to 150 DAP due to K and Zn deficiency treatments. N content in leaves and roots at 110 DAP was significantly superior over others, while N content in flowers at 150 DAP was significantly superior over others. P content in leaves and roots significantly decreased with days due to K deficiency treatment but rate of decrease was less in Zn deficiency treatment. P content in leaves and roots at 110 DAP was significantly superior over others, while P content in flowers at 150 DAP was significantly superior over others except at 140 DAP.

Field experiments were carried out to study the influence of sowing time of rice and green gram, system of cultivation of rice genotypes on yield and energetics in coastal Odisha during 2009-10 and 2010-11 in split split-plot design. In the main plots, plant rice was sown by 20 June, 5 July and 20 July followed by green gram sown by 2 January, 17 January and 1 February after stubble crop of rice. Three systems of cultivation of rice viz. Best Management Practice (BMP), System of Rice Intensification (SRI) and Modified SRI (MSRI) were assigned in the sub-plots and; hybrid Ajay and cv. Tapaswini in the sub sub-plots, giving rise to 18 treatment combinations that were replicated thrice. Plant rice sown by 20 June so also its ratoon yielded the highest grain and straw with the highest energy output which however declined with subsequent fortnightly delay in sowing. MSRI recorded significantly the highest yields as well as energy output followed by SRI and BMP in sequence. The hybrid Ajay performed better with higher grain and straw yield with significantly more energy output. The rice equivalent yield followed the similar trend so also the energy output in rice-ratoon-green gram system of production in coastal Odisha.

A field experiment was conducted during kharif season at research farm of the Soil Science Department, JNKVV, and Jabalpur. In order to study the impact of different nutrient management practices based on targeted yield and quality of soybean in Vertisol was laid out in randomized block design with five treatments consisted of T1= control, T2= GRD (20.60.20), T3= Targeted Yield (25 qha-1), T4= Targeted Yield (30 qha-1) and T5= Targeted Yield (35 qha-1). The results indicated that different doses of fertilizers based on targeted yield affected the yield of soybean significantly over control and general recommended doses (GRD) of fertilizer for various set targeted yield. The highest yield of seed and Stover were recorded in treatment T5 having 31.35 and 61.48 q ha-1 respectively. Also, the highest nutrient content of NPK were 2.78, 0.17 and 0.78 percent at 30 DAS respectively. The analyzed quality of soybean such as oil and protein content was highest in T4 i.e. 19.45 and 42.93 per cent, respectively. It was reckoned that for set of target yield based on soil test value, use of NPK fertilizers can be best practice for nutrient buildup and assimilation of higher seed protein and oil content. The targeted yield was increased by 32.25 percent over control.

The price behaviour of a commodity plays crucial role in farm level crop production planning. In this paper, an attempt has been made to forecast Pearl millet price using statistical time-series modelling techniques- Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) Models. The forecasting performance of these models has been evaluated and compared by using common criteria such as: mean absolute percentage error, Akaike Information Criteria (AIC) and Schwarz's Bayesian Information criterion (SBC). The data used in this study include monthly wholesale price of bajra from January 2003 to December 2014. Among all the models tried, the Box-Jenkins ARIMA model (2, 1, 0) was best fit with least AIC (1557.22), SBC (1566.10) and MAPE (5.78). ARIMA (2, 1, 0) model is constructed based on autocorrelation and partial autocorrelation. Finally, forecasts were made based on the model developed. On validation of the forecasts from these models, ARIMA (2, 1, 0) model performed better than the others for bajra in Renwal market. The validation percentage ranged between 87.33 per cent in December 2015 to 96.67 per cent in July 2015. Thus, ARIMA model can be used to predict the future price of bajra in Renwal market of Rajasthan.

The study was conducted in Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh among tribal farmers. Tribal farmers well know about sowing time of black gram. Where least knowledge recorded about improved varieties of black gram because mostly respondents cultivated traditional varieties. Cent per cent tribal respondents have no knowledge about disease. Overall knowledge gap 52.79 per cent recorded which shows tribal respondents have lack of knowledge about recommended cultivation practices of black gram. Further statistical correlation interpreted that occupation negative significant correlated with knowledge, where six variables shows positive significant correlated with knowledge i.e. extension participation, Land holding, annual income, credit acquisition, source of information and contact with extension personnel.
