An experiment was conducted in farmers fields during kharif season from 2012 and 2014 with paddy crop in P.B.V. Palem village of Guntur district. Implemented and demonstrated the technologies like land leveling, adequate drainage provision for removal of excess water, application of amendments, leaching, selection of crops and cropping sequence and nutrient management. Powdered gypsum was added along with organic manures, SSP for efficient reclamation. The green manure crop dhaincha was incorporated at 50% flowering stage. The paddy variety NLR 145 was transplanted with a 50% more nitrogen than recommended and application of Zinc Sulphate @ 50 kg ha-1. After three years of implementation of package, farmers got good yields with paddy crop compared to control and yields were increased from 25 to 47%. The exchangeable sodium percentage was drastically decreased from 26.93 to 17.58. Soil pH value also decreased from 8.85 to 8.10 and EC had showed little change. Soil nutrient availability increased slightly from initial to final.

An experiment aspired to evaluate the effect of multi micronutrient formulations as foliar application as well as soil application on growth, flowering behaviour and yield of ratoon spider lily crop under field condition. The experimental material, spider lily is a principle loose flower crop in Gujarat state. The spider lily crop suffers from micronutrient deficiency when cultivated in black calcareous soil of Saurashtra region. The various standard grades of formulations consisted of five micro nutrients i.e. Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu and B and converted to a set of eight treatments as foliar as well as soil application and laid out in Randomized Block Design. The treatment grade-IV (Fe-4%, Mn-1%, Zn-6%, Cu-0.5% and B-0.5%) foliar application of micronutrients found to be significantly better for plant growth and flowering as compared to the other treatments including control (T1). The treatment recorded significantly highest plant height (86.35 cm), number of leaves (96.13), leaf area (304.55 cm2), chlorophyll content (24.23 CCI), number of flowers per stalk (23.27), flowers per plant (206.15) and ultimately flower yield per hectare (30,922 bundles/ha). Essentially, this foliar treatment effect found to be statistically at par with treatment T8 (soil application of micronutrients as per soil test value). Application of multi micronutrient formulations found significant for improving growth and flowering of ratoon spider lily. Foliar application of multi micronutrient formulation grade –IV or equivalent micronutrient formulation or soil application of micronutrients as per soil test value would be effective to correct micronutrient imbalance and improve flower yield.

The present investigation was conducted at Gwalior during rabi 2011-12 entitled management of parasitic weed (Orobanche) in mustard (Brassica juncea L.) for weed control efficiency (WCE) and yield enhancement. The results showed that, application of Pendimethalin 1.0 kg/ha pre-emergence resulted in lowest weed density (81.3/m2), weed dry weight (13.6 g/m2) and highest weed control efficiency (86.98%). While highest orobanche control efficiency (37.22%) and lowest weed density (0.33/m2) was noted under the treatment trifluralin at the rate of 1.5 kg/ha + neem oil 1% pre-plant incorporation. As concern with yield and yield attributes, the treatment pendimethalin at the rate of 1.0 kg/ha pre-emergence recorded highest seeds/siliqua (15.16), test weight (4.76 g) and seed yield (22.22 q/ha) which was similar with the treatments trifluralin at the rate of 1.5 kg/ha + neem oil 1% pre-plant incorporation, application of neem cake at the rate of 200 kg/ha in furrow and pendimethalin at the rate of 0.5 kg/ha pre-emergence followed by 1 hoeing at 40 days after sowing (DAS) and significantly superior over rest of the treatments under study. The treatment pendimethalin at the rate of 1.0 kg/ha pre-emergence was found to be cost effective with net returns of Rs. 51350 and B: C ratio 4.36 which was followed by the treatment trifluralin at the rate of 1.5 kg/ha + neem oil 1% pre-plant incorporation. Hence for effective control of Orobanche and other associated weeds, application of pendimethalin at the rate of 1.0kg/ha pre-emergence can be the best option which was followed by trifluralin at the rate of 1.5 kg/ha + neem oil 1% pre-plant incorporation for higher WCE and yield in Indian mustard.

A field experiment was conducted during Rabi season 2014-15 on ‘Vertisol’ in kymore plateau and Satpura hills Agro-climatic zone of Madhya Pradesh to study the effect of tillage and nutrient management on productivity and profitability of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.).Treatments comprising 4 tillage management (main plots) viz., conventional tillage(TM1), minimum tillage with broad bed furrow(TM2), minimum tillage with roto-seed drill (TM3) and zero tillage (TM4) and 6 nutrient management (sub-plots) viz., 100% RDF through inorganic fertilizer (NM1), 75% RDF inorganic+25% organic manure(NM2), 50% RDF inorganic+50% organic manure (NM3), 25% RDF inorganic+75% organic manure (NM4), 100% RDF through organic manure (NM5) and Control (NM6).The experiment was laid out in a Split plot design with 3 replications. Among tillage management treatments, significantly higher grain and straw yields, harvest index, Production efficiency and gross monetary returns (GMR) were registered under conventional tillage followed by zero tillage. However just reverse result was found in terms of net monetary returns and benefit: cost ratio. Similarly under nutrient management, treatments where 75% recommended inorganic fertilizer was applied along with+25% organic manure proved significantly superior over 25% RDF inorganic+75% organic manure, 100% organically treated plots and Control but found at par with 100% RDF through inorganic fertilizer and 50% RDF inorganic+50% organic manure in terms of grain and straw yields, harvest index, Production efficiency and gross monetary returns (GMR). However, maximum net monetary returns (NMR) and benefit: cost ratio were observed under 100% chemical fertilizers alone and followed by 75% RDF inorganic+25% organic manure treatments. Hence, the benefit: cost ratio of wheat was decreased with supplementation of recommended dose of fertilizer with increased rate of organic manures. But owing to the beneficial effect of organic manures on soil health, wheat can be grown under zero tillage condition with combined application of nutrient sources 75% RDF inorganic fertilizer+25% organic manure for getting higher production and net returns.

The present study was conducted in Badgaon and Girwa tehsils of Udaipur district of Rajasthan. Four villages from each selected Tehsil were taken and 12 respondents were selected randomly from each selected village for the study. Data were collected through pre-structured interview schedule. It was found that majority of respondents (47.92%) were found to be from medium adoption level group. whereas, 31.25 and 20.83 per cent respondents were from the low and high adoption level group about IPM in cauliflower cultivation respectively. Among cultural practices, maximum farmers 97.92 per cent were adopted removal and destruction of the plant part and egg masses in cauliflower and among several IPM practices. 71.17 per cent farmers were adopted cultural practices in cauliflower cultivation.
