The study was conducted at Instructional cum Research Farm, Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding, College of Agriculture, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur Chhattisgarh during Kharif 2010 and 2011 and Rabi 2010-11 and 2011-12 respectively, to evaluate the variability and the gca of parents and sca of hybrids and also to assess the magnitude of heterosis for various yield and related traits and to identify the maintainer and restorers for different CMS lines. Improving the restorability of swarna and dubraj variety using two approaches i.e. Isocytoplasmic (A x R) and Mutagenic approach was one of the objectives of the present study.
