Abstract

Optimization of heat exchangers is a very active field of design research in thermal engineering. An Optimum channel flow velocity, as well as optimum number of plates was determined using performance data on the application of cooling soy bean milk with chilled water. Pressure drop, Prandtl number, Reynolds number and heat transfer coefficient of both fluids (milk and water) were estimated.
