Abstract

Nowadays oral mucoadhesive microcarriers (MMs) were exploited extensively to improve the performance of orally administered delivery system and the patient compliance through controlling and extending release profile of drug. Present review work is aimed to explore the aspects of mucoadhesives, techniques of devising and evaluating MMs that will aid in designing an efficient controlled and extended release oral system based on MMs. Informative literatures on prospective planning for developing them are rare. In this regard literatures were studied and presented as handy reference. Presented information wills insight on prospective planning for their development. This will cover development and evaluation process to be adopted, during processing and evolution. Presented data will help pharmaceutical scientists for getting a prospering product with wished performance.
