Abstract

Dowsing is a method used to find underground water. In practice, many traditional methods of dowsing are used. Most dowsers use forked stick, which may come from variety of trees. Some other dowsers may use L-shape iron rods, coconuts, keys wire, and pendulum. As no scientific base for dowsing is explained, its status is uncertain. In this paper two methods of dowsing, 1) L-shape iron rods and 2) coconut, are explained. The controversy by many authors about the cause of movement of the rods or coconut is discussed. The scientific studies of water dowsing show that, the motion of underground water increases, the gravitational force also increases. This increased gravitational pull is the main cause of motion rods or coconut.
